There was a time not long ago when good friends and fellow receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens were among the very best at their position. Ochocinco was a dynamic player with the Cincinnati Bengals, while Owens was a force on several teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.
But in 2012, both aging players are without a team and looking for work. In our latest SportsNation poll, we want to know which player would you prefer to sign right now.
Is it Ochocinco? The 34-year old is coming off the worst season of his career with the New England Patriots. Ochocinco never fit New England’s precision passing game and caught just 15 passes for 276 yards. There are reports that Ochocinco never was able to grasp the playbook. Could Ochocinco better fit with another team and be closer to the player he once was in Cincinnati?
Or would you pick Owens? The 38-year old hasn't played in the NFL since 2010. He played briefly for the IFL's Allen Wranglers but was released after reportedly refusing to play in two games and missing a scheduled visit to a children’s hospital. Owens has burned a lot of bridges in his career and it’s coming back to haunt him. The future Hall of Famer can probably help someone, even at this stage of his career, but teams are afraid of the potential headaches.
