If there is any tension between New York Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, anyone would be hard-pressed to see it. Everything between these two teammates and competitors has been kosher since Tebow was acquired in a trade this offseason to push Sanchez, the incumbent starter.
Tebow recently returned to the University of Florida, his alma mater, and expanded on his rapport with Sanchez.
"We have a great relationship, on and off the field. It's really very easy to say I am rooting for him. I will not root against him,” Tebow told Gatorzone.com. "I wish him nothing but the best. Now, that doesn’t mean I have to try any less, but I really think he's done a great job. They've been in the AFC Championship Game twice [since] he’s been there. He's a good quarterback and he’ll continue to work hard and be the best he can."
Tebow recently accepted an invite to Sanchez's "Jets West" camp, where offensive players will practice together in California. That's another good step in the rebuilding process for a group that imploded last season.
Many thought Tebow's presence would rattle Sanchez. But the Jets' starter is handling the situation well. It appears the two have a good, mutual friendship. Both have faced some ups and downs in their careers, and the Jets hope Tebow and Sanchez can bring the best out of each other.
