DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill officially missed his second day of practice Saturday morning. The team took the practice field for warm-ups around 8 a.m. ET to avoid the South Florida heat. The first-round pick was not present at the start of practice due to a contract dispute with the team.
Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland says both sides are making progress. But it obviously wasn’t enough to get Tannehill in by the second practice. The rookie is expected to be in a three-way quarterback battle with veterans Matt Moore and David Garrard.
The AFC East blog is with the Dolphins this weekend for our first camp stop. It turns out Tannehill’s absence is becoming a bigger story each day until the Dolphins get him in camp.
