Morning take: Fitzpatrick in spotlight

Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC East:
  • The 2012 season is quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick's time to shine with the Buffalo Bills.
Morning take: "Fitz" has the huge contract, he has the experience and a talented team. There are no excuses for Fitzpatrick this year. He must produce.
Morning take: This will be the story of the Jets' season. The front office must feel good about the possibility or the Jets would not have acquired popular backup quarterback Tim Tebow. The Tebow-Mark Sanchez dynamic is one of several distractions New York must keep at bay.
  • Here is a look at the defensive tackles of the New England Patriots.
Morning take: Vince Wilfork is the steady force of this group. Kyle Love, Ron Brace and Brandon Deaderick show flashes but need to work on being more consistent.
  • Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak is very impressed with Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Morning take: Tannehill has the physical tools to be successful in the NFL. But he lacks experience and the supporting cast. There will be plenty of growing pains for Tannehill, and it probably starts Sunday in Houston.
