Titans help Brady return to his prolific ways

Even by Tom Brady's standards, Sunday was uncommonly good.

Brady has finally been lifted in the third quarter of a 52-0 slaughter of the Tennessee Titans in Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots were up 45-0 at halftime after Brady threw five touchdown passes in the second quarter, the first passer to toss that many in a quarter since 1950. Brady went into the game with five touchdown passes all year.

Brady stayed in the game at the start of the second half and tacked on another TD before rookie backup Brian Hoyer relieved him.

His final stat line (unless Bill Belichick sends him back onto the field): 29 of 34 for 380 yards and six touchdowns, zero interceptions.

The Titans, on their way to 0-6 with a flourish, are playing without starting cornerbacks Cortland Finnegan and Nick Harper.
