Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC East:
In a surprise move, Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller (shoulder) returned to practice in a limited role Thursday.
Morning take: Spiller isn’t expected to play but it appears he has an outside shot. The Bills will have Fred Jackson for sure.
The Patriots are happy the regular NFL officials are back.
Morning take: Every team would agree. The replacement idea was a fiasco, with Monday night’s blown call the lowlight.
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan says San Francisco's Vernon Davis is the best tight end in football.
Morning take: Was this a shot at tight end Rob Gronkowski of the rival Patriots? Ryan wouldn’t say a New England player was the best. He also snubbed Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints.
Injuries are mounting for the Miami Dolphins.
Morning take: Miami came off a physical, overtime slugfest against the Jets. The most concerning injuries are to tailback Reggie Bush and starting corner Richard Marshall.
