Morning take: Ryan Tannehill's progress

Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC East:
  • Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill is practicing well and it's showing up in games.
Morning take: You practice how you play, and Tannehill is making strides in both areas. He's showing promise, which is good news for Miami's future.
  • Would the New York Jets cut No. 1 receiver Santonio Holmes?
Morning take: Holmes will be returning from a season-ending foot injury next year. However, he is guaranteed $7.5 million. That price is too steep for the Jets to move on.
  • Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams was fined $15,000 for a hit on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Morning take: I was at the game and thought it was questionable that Williams was flagged. But the NFL will always err on the side of quarterback safety. So it's not surprising.
Morning take: It turns out defensive holding is No. 1 on the list. The secondary has drawn flags but it beats pass interference calls.
