My season record continues to surge. I am an astounding (better than stellar) 12-1 picking AFC East games this year. I'm still a little upset at New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski for messing up my perfect record.
But here are the AFC East blog's picks for Week 5
Miami Dolphins (1-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-1), Sunday at 1 p.m. ET
Skinny: The Bengals' strength is big plays in the passing game, and that happens to be Miami's weakness on defense. The Dolphins lose another close one to fall to 1-4, this time in regulation.
Pick: Bengals, 21-17
Buffalo Bills (2-2) at San Francisco 49ers (3-1), Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET
Skinny: Bills coach Chan Gailey challenged his team's toughness this week. But I don't think the Bills are tough enough to go out west and beat the 49ers at home. The 49ers are a bad matchup.
Pick: 49ers, 24-14
Denver Broncos (2-2) at New England Patriots (2-2), Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET
Skinny: This should be a fun game to watch. The Patriots' offense is hot after scoring 52 points last week. New England already lost once at home. I don't see the Patriots dropping two in a row at Gillette Stadium.
Pick: Patriots, 30-23
Houston Texans (4-0) at New York Jets (2-2), Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET
Skinny: Houston is one of the top teams in the NFL, and the Jets are a train wreck. This is a bad time for the Jets to play on national television.
Picks: Texans, 27-10
Last week: 3-0
Overall: 12-1
Comment: Another miserable week ahead for the AFC East. Brace for it.
