Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC East:
  • It's not just the Buffalo Bills' defense that is struggling. The offense needs to get it going, too.
Morning take: The defense is getting heat after allowing 97 points in the past two games. But the offense isn't picking up the team. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Co. have to put the Bills in position to win.
  • New York Jets guard Matt Slauson was fined $10,000 for his block on Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing.
Morning take: Slauson's low block knocked Cushing out for the season, which caught the league's attention. I don't think Slauson is a dirty player, but the block definitely was questionable.
  • Rob Ninkovich of the New England Patriots is doing well at his new position of defensive end.
Morning take: Patriots head coach Bill Belichick loves versatility. Ninkovich is getting better each week at defensive end after moving from outside linebacker.
Morning take: Taking care of the football is Miami's best way to win games. The Dolphins won't overwhelm you with a high-scoring offense, so they have to play tough and play efficient.
