The New England Patriots (3-3) will host the New York Jets (3-3) Sunday with first place on the line in the AFC East.

So who will sit in the big game? Here is an update:

Patriots: Backup running back Brandon Bolden (knee) missed his second straight practice and is expected to miss this game. That means either Danny Woodhead or Shane Vereen must step up and relieve starter Stevan Ridley. Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle), safety Steve Gregory (hip) and guard Logan Mankins (calf/hip) both missed practice Thursday after being limited Wednesday. All three players will have their status in doubt.

Jets: It appears Kenrick Ellis (knee) will be out another week. He hasn’t practice both days this week. Neither has center Nick Mangold (ankle), which would be a concern for most players. But Mangold is as tough as they come and is probably getting rest for Sunday. Running back depth also is an issue. Backup tailbacks Bilal Powell (shoulder) and Joe McKnight (ankle) also missed both practices. That paves the way for backup quarterback Tim Tebow to get a few carries at running back this week.
