CBS Sports color commentator Dan Dierdorf will call Sunday's game between the New York Jets and Oakland Raiders in the Coliseum.

Dierdorf shared his thoughts on the matchup, the microscope rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez is under and the devastating loss of nose tackle Kris Jenkins.

On the matchup:

The Jets are playing a Raiders team that could not have possibly looked any worse than they did against the Giants. Then last week the Raiders played with passion, energy and intensity. While it wasn't the most beautiful thing in the world, they physically manhandled the Philadelphia Eagles.

So it's which Raiders are the Jets going to see? Do the Raiders have the discipline to pull that off two weeks in a row and play at a higher level more than once? That's a big question.

On Sanchez:

Will there be a more scrutinized player in the National Football League on Sunday than Mark Sanchez? Given what has happened the past three weeks, with three losses in which he didn't play well in two of the three, I'm not sure. After last week, there are people analyzing his body language, how he holds his shoulders. This guy is under the microscope.

I think it's smart that the Jets are going to scale things back a bit to try to simplify some of his reads and keep him from thinking as much.

On the Raiders:

This is a Raiders team that has talent. They are not bankrupt in the talent department. They have just underperformed. Those are the teams you are really afraid to play. You don't like to play those teams. The Raiders have talent, especially defensively, and they can make you look bad.

On the Jets' injuries:

The loss of Kris Jenkins is huge. When you play a 3-4 defense and make it the cornerstone of your defense, you have to have a dominating nose tackle to pull it off.

Right now the Jets are in a scramble mode to figure out who can partially replace Kris Jenkins. They don't have anybody on their roster that can step in and be as dominant in that position as Jenkins. So it will be interesting to see what adjustments Rex Ryan is going to make to compensate for that.
