Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC East:
Who is more terrible: the New York Jets or Tim Tebow?
Morning take: Tebow has some skills but is pretty bad as a quarterback. The Jets also are bad as a team. That's a tough question.
Former NFL head coach Steve Mariucci says the Buffalo Bills can build a franchise around quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Morning take: I disagree with Mariucci. Fitzpatrick is not a franchise quarterback. He's too streaky to make the Bills a consistent winner. Buffalo would be smart to draft a top quarterback in the first two rounds next year, one who can eventually take over the starting job.
New England Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett was praised for his practice efforts.
Morning take: This is good news, because Mallett must perform if Tom Brady gets injured. Mallett is still an unknown commodity but is working hard to stay ready.
Can the Miami Dolphins regain momentum?
Morning take: The young Dolphins have lost two in a row and have an interesting test Thursday night against Buffalo. Things could go downhill fast if they can’t bounce back.
