The New York Jets reminded everyone they're still on the scene.

After dropping three straight, the Jets ransacked the Oakland Raiders 38-0 on Sunday in the Coliseum to remain one game out of first place in the AFC East.

The Jets probably have lost Pro Bowl return man and running back Leon Washington for a while. He was carted off the field with a leg injury that looked gruesome to the naked eye. A week ago, the Jets lost star nose tackle Kris Jenkins to season-ending knee surgery.

Jenkins wouldn't have been much of a factor in Oakland. The Jets ran for over 300 yards for a second straight week, chased JaMarcus Russell from the game and pulled off another successful fake punt.

The Jets jumped to a quick lead when they sacked Russell and forced a fumble to set up a Thomas Jones run. Russell threw two interceptions before the Raiders replaced him with Bruce Gradkowski, not a huge upgrade.

Washington's injury gave rookie Shonn Greene his first significant action of the year, and the reigning Doak Walker Award winner as college football's best running back was sensational. He finished with 19 carries for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

Jones had 26 carried for 121 yards and one touchdown.

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez bounced back decently from his five-interception performance in last week's sudden-death loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Sanchez was 9 of 15 for 143 yards and one touchdown, a 35-yarder for the first score of David Clowney's career. Sanchez also ran for a touchdown.
