For the purposes of this blog post, Bill Belichick and Dick Jauron belong in the same sentence.
They're the only AFC East coaches to win their past two games.
Fans have responded much more favorably to Belichick and Jauron so far in the latest edition of SportsNation's NFL head coach approval ratings. Voting remains open throughout the week.
Belichick's rating after protégé Josh McDaniels beat the New England Patriots in overtime was at 52 percent. The Patriots rebounded to thrash their next two opponents by 87 points and head into the bye week atop the AFC East.
Through early balloting Tuesday morning, Belichick's rating was 81 percent, ninth-highest in the league.
Jauron's score remains low, but it sure beats the 4 percents he pulled down for Weeks 4 and 5. The Buffalo Bills knocked off the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, and that's enough to nearly quintuple Jauron's approval rating.
He was at 19 percent Tuesday morning, undercut by Eric Mangini, John Fox, Tom Cable, Lovie Smith and Raheem Morris. But not Jim Zorn -- somehow.
Jets coach Rex Ryan peaked at 92 percent after jumping to a 3-0 start, but three straight Jets losses dropped him to 44 percent last week. Ryan was back up to 79 percent, thanks to Sunday's 38-0 pummeling of the Oakland Raiders.
Tony Sparano remained in the upper half with a respectable 67 percent after blowing a 21-point lead in a loss to the New Orleans Saints.
