Here are the most interesting stories Monday in the AFC East:
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brenden Ayanbadejo rips the New England Patriots by calling their offense a “gimmick.”
Morning take: It’s probably not a good idea to get the Patriots started with early bulletin board material. New England’s offense was No. 1 in total yards and scoring this season. So the Patriots are doing something right.
Former Jets defensive line coach Anthony Weaver is expected to join the Buffalo Bills.
Morning take: Buffalo’s coaching staff on defense will have a New York feel after hiring defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. Weaver was one of Pettine’s top assistants with the Jets and will be the position coach for Mario Williams, Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus.
Green Bay Packers receiver Greg Jennings hopes to return to his old team.
Morning take: I don’t see it. Jennings will get big offers from other teams such as the Miami Dolphins. Green Bay has enough receivers not to overpay for Jennings, who will most likely follow the money.
The Jets have narrowed their general manager search.
Morning take: It looks like former Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo is the favorite down the home stretch. But you never know with the Jets. A final decision could be made next week.
