Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC East:
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan says quarterback Mark Sanchez must earn the starting job next season.
Morning take: Right now Sanchez is the favorite. But if New York adds a veteran like Matt Flynn via trade, things could get interesting. That's probably the best move for the Jets.
The Minnesota Vikings reiterated that they will not trade wide receiver Percy Harvin.
Morning take: That rules out any chance of Harvin going to the New England Patriots. Wes Welker has to be the focus before free agency starts next month. Welker's production would be difficult to replace.
Arm strength is an important part of the quarterback evaluation for the Buffalo Bills.
Morning take: The Bills have had four years of watching Ryan Fitzpatrick struggle to throw in Buffalo weather. The Bills would be wise not to repeat those mistakes.
Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland says the team still has a role available for free-agent tailback Reggie Bush.
Morning take: But only at Miami's price. Bush would be welcomed if he was willing to take a hometown discount. However, Miami isn't willing to overpay for any of its in-house free agents.
