The Miami Dolphins entered the offseason with more draft picks (nine) than any team in the AFC East. It turns out Miami's draft capital further increased Monday when the NFL announced its 2013 compensatory picks.
Miami was awarded two additional picks in next month's NFL draft. The Dolphins gained an additional fifth- and seventh-round selection. Miami has 11 draft picks total, which is tied for the third most in the NFL.
No other AFC East team gained a compensatory pick. Although somewhat unscientific, compensatory picks are awarded to teams with a greater loss of quality free agents than gained the previous year.
