MIAMI -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards went into Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins as the AFC's leading fourth-quarter passer.

When the teams flipped the field at the end of the third quarter, Edwards flip-flopped on his recent history of late-game infallibility.

Among Buffalo's first eight plays of the fourth quarter, Edwards threw four incomplete passes, including a tipped interception, carelessly allowed Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter to strip him while stretching for a first down, was sacked and fumbled for a safety.

The Dolphins won 25-16 to muddle the AFC East standings.

The Bills committed four turnovers in the fourth quarter.

"Just watching the tape, it seemed like that once one thing went wrong another thing went wrong, and it just kind of kept going and going," Edwards said Monday at the Bills' facility in Orchard Park, N.Y. "We never stopped the bleeding or could put some points on the board.

"We never could give our defense a rest, and it was just one of those games where the floodgates just opened in the fourth quarter. I've been part of those games before in the past, and it's frustrating to come in the next day to watch the film and you just have to listen to your coaches and make sure it doesn't happen again."

Edwards completed 6 of 13 passes for 83 yards, no touchdowns and an interception for a 35.1 fourth-quarter passer rating.

Prior to Sunday he had a 133.5 fourth-quarter passer rating.

"I never see Trent out of sync," Bills running back Marshawn Lynch said after the game. Lynch had only 13 carries, yet gained 61 yards and scored a touchdown. "But they made some good plays. You can't take away from them playing good defense, too.

"I wouldn't put it on Trent. It's a team thing, you know? We've got to come together collectively."
