ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills keep leaving points on the field.

On third-and-inches from the New York Jets' 8-yard line, the Bills chose to pass. Trent Edwards fired the ball out of the end zone.

Bills coach Dick Jauron went for it on fourth down even though Marshawn Lynch is out of the game with an undisclosed injury or illness and the Jets own the NFL's No. 4 run defense.

Reserve running back Fred Jackson ran left and failed to get the first down, giving New York possession.

The Jets lead 13-7 midway through the second quarter.
