A weekly examination of the Dolphins' ESPN.com Power Ranking:
Preseason: 20 | Last Week: 19 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
The Miami Dolphins perhaps earned their most important win to date with a 22-20 overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The game snapped a four-game losing streak for Miami (4-4) and put the team back at .500 at the midpoint of its season.
But surprisingly, the impressive win didn’t do anything for the Dolphins in ESPN.com’s Power Rankings. Miami remained in the same spot this week at No. 19. The Dolphins dropped four straight weeks in the rankings until Tuesday. Beating the Bengals was a quality win for the Dolphins and may provide some momentum on the field.
However, the Dolphins are making more headlines off the field this week with the controversial situation involving guard Richie Incognito. He’s alleged to have harassed and threatened teammate Jonathan Martin, forcing Miami to suspend Incognito indefinitely.
The Dolphins are trying to keep focused as they prepare for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-8) on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”
