Miami morning take: Incognito Edition II

November, 6, 2013
Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Wednesday from around the web:
  • Dolphins guard Richie Incognito spoke to WSVN Channel 7 Tuesday and said “he’s just trying to weather the storm.”
Morning take: Incognito indeed is in a large storm – one that definitely cost him his spot with the Dolphins. But will Incognito get another shot in the NFL?
  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that right tackle Jonathan Martin never approached coach Joe Philbin with his issues.
Morning take: This is good news in one respect. It shows that Philbin didn’t know about Martin’s issues. On the other hand, this proves that Philbin didn’t keep close-enough tabs on his locker room and may have been oblivious to the situation.
  • Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel reports that Dolphins coaches asked Incognito to toughen up Martin in the spring.
Morning take: This would not be good news for Miami's coaching staff. If this is true, Incognito took it much, much further than necessary. This is something the NFL must look into.

  • Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reports that Martin’s high school coach believes Martin is a perfect target for bullies.
Morning take: Martin is highly intelligent, but he’s also quiet. According to his former coach, Martin doesn’t want any trouble, but still he found it.
