If Currier & Ives were to channel Stephen King, the result would have been a scene from what transpired in Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Buffalo Bills slaughtered the Indianapolis Colts in the snow, sledding to a 30-7 romp to end an otherwise revolting season.

And what a laugh it was. The Bills, three days after naming Buddy Nix general manager, pelted the Colts from the start. The Bills intercepted Peyton Manning on the Colts' first drive, scored on the ensuing possession and never looked back.

The Colts benched a lot of their starters late in the first half, but the Bills were in control by then. To keep Manning in the game would've been pointless.

Buffalo running back Fred Jackson went into the game needing 150 rushing yards to reach 1,000 for the first time. And his coaches and teammates made it happen. Jackson ran for a career-high 212 yards on 33 carries and added a touchdown reception.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, who missed last week with an ankle injury, returned and threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with Terrell Owens for 41 yards and Lee Evans for 21 yards.

Owens might have been playing his final game for Buffalo. With a strong last third of the season after Fitzpatrick was named the starter, Owens finished with 55 receptions for 829 yards and five touchdowns.

The receptions still were the lowest output in a full season since he was a rookie for the San Francisco 49ers in 1996. His yardage was the third-worst of his career in a full season.
