Shonn Greene's 23-carry, 128-yard performance in Sunday's 17-14 win over the Chargers put the Jets rookie running back in the record books.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, only two other rookies in NFL history have gained at least 100 rushing yards in each of their first two playoff games: Duane Thomas of the Cowboys (1970) and Ickey Woods of the Bengals (1988). Greene gained 135 yards on 21 carries in the Jets 24-14 win over Cincinnati in the wild-card round.
Greene is also the first player in NFL history with 125-plus rush yards and a rushing touchdown in each of his first two career postseason games. He's the third with 100-plus rush yards and a rushing touchdown in each of his first two career postseason games.
His 263 postseason rushing yards already put him third all-time on the Jets' list (Freeman McNeil had 633 and Curtis Martin had 528) and Greene's two postseason performances rank as second and fourth on the biggest rushing days in Jets postseason history.
In the video below, Greene talks to SportsCenter about coach Rex Ryan's predictions, how he expected he'd be used in the playoffs and being a 25-year-old rookie.
