Jason Taylor a New England Patriot?
TaylorAlbert Breer of the Boston Globe revives that notion with a look at why Taylor and the Patriots would be such a nice fit.
Taylor, 35, has been noncommittal about his future after sacrificing serious bucks to return to the Miami Dolphins. But we know there's mutual respect between Taylor and the Patriots organization, from owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady.
Taylor bounced back after a lost season with the Washington Redskins, showing he still has the ability to help a club on passing downs. He started 15 games for Miami, recording seven sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception.
Breer ticks off a checklist of how Taylor would work with the Patriots, who are in need of pass-rushing help. The Patriots notched 31 sacks, tying for 23rd in the NFL. Their top pass-rusher was Tully Banta-Cain with 10 sacks, twice as much as the next guy.
