Cowherd: There's a sense now, with Bill Belichick, that a lot of players, initially people bought into it ... but that they're always trying to get the most out of the player, work the hardest, pay the least. Is there animosity around the league for Bill Belichick and the Patriots system?
McGinest: Well you know what? I was in that system and I bought into it, and we were successful at that, so I can't knock the system. The thing I do not agree with is the players that helped set that foundation, that was links in that chain, that helped you get the championships, I think you're supposed to take care of those players if they can still play and if they're still productive. And I think there's a lot of players that left that organization that was productive, that should still be there, and I don't think they would be in the same position they are today.McGiniest also touches on the Patriots trade of Richard Seymour to the Raiders in terms of the loss of leadership on the field and the hole he left in the Patriots' defense.
