Cromartie calls Brady unprintable things
By Tim Graham
We can give you the first half of one word. You'll have to fill in the blanks after that.
New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie shared his feelings about New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
"An ass----," Cromartie told the New York Daily News. "F--- him."
That certainly qualifies as frank commentary.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan took shots at Brady last week and again Monday in an apparent attempt to divert attention from the Week 13 annihilation at Gillette Stadium. Rather than focus on a 42-point defeat, more sensational topics were presented for discussion.
Ryan expressed his disdain for Brady's "antics on the field," which include pointing at the opponents' sideline after a touchdown.
Cromartie and Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis don't like it much either. Brady had a lot of opportunities to show up the Jets in Week 13.
"When they scored, he'd look over to our sideline and do a little body language and all that," Ellis said in a New York Post story. "He was fired up for that game.
"We're going to get the same thing this week. It's for us as a defense to go out there and shut him down."
Cromartie hasn't forgotten how the Patriots acted during his rookie season with the San Diego Chargers. The Patriots beat the Chargers in the playoffs and angered their hosts with the way they celebrated on the Qualcomm Stadium field.
"I hate them," Cromartie said. "I don't care. I hate them. ... Everything is personal with me and the Patriots and what they did to us. So I really don't care. I don't have too much to say about them. I'm just ready to play ball on Sunday."
