Seymour 'blindsided,' will report to Raiders

He still hasn't reported to Oakland, but we've finally heard from Richard Seymour.
Boston Herald columnist Ron Borges got Seymour to comment six days after the New England Patriots traded the five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman to the Oakland Raiders.
Seymour, who has made his living trying to catch the opposing quarterback unawares, said he "was blindsided by this whole event" and suggested he had trouble coming to grips with the transaction.
"When you get blindsided, you should take a moment to gather your thoughts," Seymour said. "I have a lot of personal issues more pressing than football."
Seymour practically disappeared for a week, leaving the Raiders to wonder if he would show up after they sent a 2011 first-round pick to the Patriots for him.
"There are a lot of different emotions," Seymour said. "Football was not my main concern at that point. I have had discussions with the Raiders. ... I’m excited and happy with the way they’re looking at me.”
Seymour said he planned to be on the field when the Raiders open their season Monday night against the San Diego Chargers.
"I’ll be the guy on top of the quarterback," Seymour said.
