Texans-Dolphins halftime notes
By James Walker
MIAMI -- The Houston Texans lead the Miami Dolphins 16-3 at halftime.
Here are some notes at intermission:
- The Dolphins are making too many errors to be competitive in the first half. Quarterback Chad Henne threw an interception deep in Miami territory to set up Houston's only touchdown in the first half. Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter also had one field goal blocked and another sail wide left to take points off the board.
- Houston's offense is gaining yards in chunks. The Texans have nine plays of 10 yards or more in the first half. Houston quarterback Matt Schaub has thrown for 170 yards and a touchdown. But Houston had to settle for field goals in three of four trips to the red zone.
- Dolphins rookie running back Daniel Thomas is having a nice regular-season debut. He has 51 rushing yards on 10 carries and is doing most of his work between the tackles. Thomas missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury.
- Texans running back Arian Foster isn't doing much in his 2011 debut. The Pro Bowl tailback also missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury. Foster has 33 yards on 10 carries.
