Poll Friday: Is Fitzpatrick the answer?
By James Walker
I wrote the day Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick signed a six-year, $59 million extension that it is now his job to prove he's the next Matt Schaub, not Kevin Kolb.
So far, the results haven't been good for Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is 1-6 and his Total Quarterback Rating is has dropped from 70.9 to 39.7 since signing the extension. He looks much closer to Kolb than Schaub since becoming the face of the Bills' franchise. Buffalo (5-8) is on a six-game losing streak and some Bills fans are already questioning Fitzpatrick.
In this week's edition of "Poll Friday," we want to know is Fitzpatrick the long-term solution in Buffalo? His contract suggests he will be the Bills' starter for the next several seasons. Coach Chan Gailey also gave "Fitz" his backing this week. Fitzpatrick has thrown for 3,013 yards, 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions this year.
Did Buffalo rush to judgment to give Fitzpatrick a big contract during the season? Or did the Bills make the right call?
Using our SportsNation poll, vote on whether Fitzpatrick is the right guy to get Buffalo to the next level. You can also share your thoughts in the comment section below.
