Halftime: Upset brewing in New England
By James Walker
The AFC East blog has said for weeks that the Miami Dolphins (5-9) are one of the NFL's most dangerous spoilers down the stretch.
Could the New England Patriots be the next victim?
The Patriots have the inside track for home-field advantage and the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC. But the Patriots could let that slip away as the Dolphins are leading, 17-0 at halftime. Miami (5-9) is playing for pride but is 5-2 in its last seven games. This is probably the Dolphins' most complete first half of the season.
New England (11-3) quarterback Tom Brady is off to a slow start, completing just 7 of 19 for 87 yards in the first half. The Patriots' last-ranked defense isn't helping matters. New England has allowed 255 yards and two passing touchdowns in the first two quarters.
The Baltimore Ravens (10-4) and Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4) also are vying for the No. 1 seed with New England.
