Poll: How much should Bills pay Johnson?
By James Walker
The Buffalo Bills have an intriguing decision to make and time is running out. How much should the team pay leading receiver and unrestricted free agent Steve Johnson?
Both sides are reportedly far apart in discussions. It's been that way since the regular season when they tried but couldn't come to an agreement.
Johnson is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. He wants to be paid like a true No. 1 receiver, but he's not a game-changer in the mold of Andre Johnson or Calvin Johnson. Should Steve Johnson get paid in the $5-$7 million range?
Buffalo also needs Johnson and is thin at receiver. The position is very important in the Bills' spread offense. Should Buffalo pay Johnson what he wants, starting at $8 million per year? There also is the option of using the franchise tag, although that seems unlikely.
