Tim Tebow practices jump pass

By Rich Cimini

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Jets have yet to unveil Tim Tebow in the Wildcat, but they've practiced with him in the role of personal protector on the punt team -- and that ain't all.

On Monday, Tebow -- the up-back -- executed a jump pass on a fake punt. If you want to see it, check out this interview with Hannah Storm, which shows the jump pass.

Tebow never has played special teams in a game, but coordinator Mike Westhoff has some plans for him. By using Tebow as the up-back, it sets up the possibility for a trick play. Opponents will know that, and it could force them to be cautious when rushing the punter.

"What I'm doing is kind of like being a quarterback out there with all our calls, checks, audibles, fakes -- and it's pretty fun," Tebow said. "I'm getting more used to it every day."
