MIAMI -- San Diego Chargers receiver Chris Chambers, who caught a touchdown to bring his team within seven points of the Miami Dolphins, has left the game with what the team called a "lower left leg injury.
Chambers was hurt on the final play of the third quarter on a 5-yard catch that put the ball at the Dolphins 1-yard line. Trainers were working on his ankle. He was taken in for X-rays. The extent of the injury is not yet known.
Chambers, playing his first game against the team he spent more than six years with, made a brilliant touchdown grab in the third quarter. He leaned at the sideline to stay inbounds and haul down a 17-yard toss from Philip Rivers.
