Poll Friday: No. 2 QB in AFC East?
By James Walker
Last year we did the popular "Sanchez-Fitz-Moore Watch" to determine the second-best quarterback in the AFC East behind Tom Brady of the New England Patriots.
The AFC East blog is considering a "Sanchez-Fitz-Tanny Watch" (and perhaps Tim Tebow) for 2012. But Friday we want our AFC East community to predict the winner.
So who will have the better season at quarterback: Mark Sanchez, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Ryan Tannehill? None of these players will put up Brady-like numbers this year, but someone has to step up as the second-best quarterback in the division.
Will it be Sanchez? The Jets’ starter has a ton of pressure on him and needs to perform. Tim Tebow is waiting to take over and that could bring the best out of Sanchez.
What about Fitzpatrick? He started 2011 fast but battled through injuries and stumbled down the stretch. This is the best Buffalo team Fitzpatrick has had. Can he play well and lead the Bills to the playoffs?
Finally, does Tannehill have a shot? The rookie can make all the throws and has the highest ceiling. But Tannehill has to work through inexperience and a lowly supporting cast.
Using our SportsNation poll, vote on who will be the second-best quarterback in the AFC East. You can also share your thoughts in the comment section below.
