AFC East Player of the Week
By James Walker
The AFC East went 2-1 in Week 5. The New York Jets still have a game to play Monday night, but there were several impressive performances to chew on.
So who is the latest AFC East Player of the Week?
Was it Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones? The Dolphins had a good team win over the Cincinnati Bengals. But Jones stood out Sunday with seven tackles and a game-clinching interception off Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton.
The Patriots had a couple of standout performances on offense. Starting tailback Stevan Ridley rushed for a career-best 151 yards and a touchdown. He had a late fumble that will be remembered. But overall, Ridley was impressive. Pro Bowl receiver Wes Welker also is back in the mix with 13 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Finally, we have Buffalo Bills kick returner Leodis McKelvin. He had a great kick return of 59 yards and another punt return of 28 yards. McKelvin was one of the few bright spots in Buffalo’s 45-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
