Poll Friday: Jets' QB in 2013
By James Walker
New York Jets fans are fed up with the team's 4-7 season. One of the biggest questions is what the team should do at quarterback.
So we open the floor to our AFC East community. Who do you think will be the starting quarterback of the Jets in 2013.
Will it be incumbent starter Mark Sanchez? The AFC East blog reported this week that Sanchez is guaranteed to make $8.25 million from the Jets in 2013. Sanchez also has a $500,000 workout bonus in the offseason. Sanchez will be on the Jets’ roster. Will the money be enough to make him the starter?
Or will be it popular backup quarterback Tim Tebow? Jets fans are already calling for a change to Tebow. Jets head coach Rex Ryan seems reluctant to do it. But Tebow does have a winning track record.
Should the Jets draft a quarterback? To get a starter, New York has to take a top prospect in the first two rounds. Top prospects like Geno Smith and Matt Barkley could be out the running if the Jets win another game or two. Free agency also is an option, although the Jets don’t have much cap room.
