Walker's AFC East picks
By James Walker
The AFC East blog kicked off December last week with a stellar 3-0 start. That brings our total record this season on division predictions to an impressive 30-9.
Let’s keep it rolling with four more picks for Week 14.
New York Jets (5-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10), Sunday at 1 p.m. ET
Skinny: Jacksonville's defense is 28th against the pass and 31st against the run. This game is tailor-made for Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez to have a bounce-back game.
Pick: Jets, 20-17
St. Louis Rams (5-6-1) at Buffalo Bills (5-7), Sunday at 1 p.m. ET
Skinny: I like this matchup of two teams currently playing their best football. However, the injury to Buffalo center Eric Wood could screw up continuity on offense. St. Louis' defensive line also is a strength. This is my upset special of the week.
Pick: Rams, 17-14
Miami Dolphins (5-7) at San Francisco 49ers (8-3-1), Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET
Skinny: The 49ers are 3-0 this year coming off losses or ties. Miami, as usual, plays competitive but doesn’t have enough offensive firepower to win on the road.
Pick: 49ers, 23-14
Houston Texans (11-1) at New England Patriots (9-3), Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET
Skinny: This should be one of the best games of the regular season. New England is getting healthy at the right time and scores just enough points to hold off Houston at home.
Pick: Patriots, 27-24
Last week: 3-0
Comment: Who says I don't predict upsets (wink, wink)?
