Morning take: Jets' offensive line
By James Walker
Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC East:
Morning take: When you allow 11 sacks, it doesn't matter who is under center. The Bills have a chance to rattle former third-string quarterback Greg McElroy on Sunday.
Morning take: I would have picked Byrd over New York Jets safety LaRon Landry, although they play different safety roles. I think Byrd had a strong year. But not making the Pro Bowl actually helps the Bills keep the price down for the pending free agent.
Morning take: "Gronk" doesn’t need clearance this week. Next week is a much different story if the Patriots play in the wild-card round.
- New England Patriots Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski is still awaiting medical clearance.
Morning take: That’s not a good thing against New England's multi-faceted, up-tempo offense. No. 1 cornerback Sean Smith didn't practice and needs to be on the field for the Dolphins to have a chance for the upset.
