Morning take: Patriots' self-scouting
By James Walker
Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC East:
Morning take: The Patriots are very solid at self-scouting. They maximize their strengths better than most teams, and that will be key during this postseason run.
Morning take: Kahn is respected in NFL circles. But the Jets need to pick things up with their GM search. Teams are moving on and working on getting better, while the Jets are standing still.
- The New York Jets will interview Pittsburgh Steelers director of football business and administration Omar Kahn for their open general manager position.
Morning take: I agree with this article that the Dolphins need wide receivers. Brian Hartline is an unrestricted free agent who may not return. Miami needs a true No. 1 receiver to work with quarterback Ryan Tannehill whether Hartline returns or not.
Morning take: Buffalo defensive coordinator Mike Pettine will bring his 3-4 scheme to the Bills. However, I would be shocked if Buffalo doesn't run a hybrid defense with a mix of 4-3 and 3-4 defense to fit the players.
