Jets get on the board in Day 3
By James Walker
The New York Jets did not have a fourth-round pick. Therefore, they had to make their first selection in the fifth round, more than two hours into Day 3.
New York took Virginia offensive tackle/guard Oday Aboushi with the No. 141 overall pick. The Jets are counting on Aboushi to add depth and versatility to the offensive line. He is the second offensive lineman taken by the Jets in this draft.
The Jets have taken five players thus far. Those picks include Aboushi, cornerback Dee Milliner, defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson, quarterback Geno Smith and guard Brian Winters.
Curiously, New York has yet to address its offensive skill positions other than quarterback with Smith. But whoever is under center for the Jets in 2013 will have limited weapons to throw to after a mild free agency and ignoring receivers and tight ends in this draft.
