Dolphins go on Gator run in fifth round

By James Walker

The Miami Dolphins used their first fifth-round pick of the 2013 NFL draft to add depth at running back. The Dolphins drafted tailback Mike Gillislee from Florida with the No. 164 overall pick in the fifth round.

Miami lost starting running back Reggie Bush in free agency. The Dolphins plan to use Lamar Miller as the starter and Daniel Thomas in the backfield. Gillislee has good size and is physical. He could be a solid third option if he develops.

Gillislee started just one year at Florida. He rushed for 1,152 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.

Miami also drafted another Florida Gator with their second fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall). The Dolphins selected kicker Caleb Sturgis to compete with Dan Carpenter, who had some struggles last season. The Dolphins drafted a third Gator -- linebacker Jelani Jenkins -- in the fourth round.
