Da'Rick Rogers among Bills' cuts
By Mike Rodak
The Buffalo Bills waived five players on Monday morning, including rookie receiver Da'Rick Rogers.
An undrafted rookie, some expected Rogers to compete for a roster spot entering training camp. However, his playing time dwindled as the preseason went on, and he was buried at the bottom of the Bills' depth chart at receiver.
A standout player at Tennessee, Rogers was dismissed from the school last summer following multiple failed drug tests. He played last season at Tennessee Tech and likely would have been drafted had it not been for his off-field problems.
The Bills also waived safety Dominique Ellis, cornerback Jumal Rolle, wide receiver DeMarco Sampson, and center Ryan Turnley. All saw limited action in the first three preseason games and were long-shots to make the 53-man roster.
Buffalo's roster stands at 76 players after Monday's cuts. They will have to trim their roster to 75 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
