Welcome to Ralph Wilson Stadium
By Mike Rodak
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Welcome to Ralph Wilson Stadium, where the Buffalo Bills host the New England Patriots to kick off their regular season (CBS, 1 p.m. ET):
Weather conditions: The sun is peeking out here in Western New York after rain late Saturday. The clouds are expected to move out by game time, with temperatures reaching the low 60s by kickoff. Winds are gusty this morning (up to 25 m.p.h.) but will become less of a factor as the game progresses.
Byrd unlikely to play: The Bills must declare seven inactives by 90 minutes prior to kickoff. They have already ruled three players as out: cornerback Stephon Gilmore, kicker Dustin Hopkins, and offensive lineman Doug Legursky. Meanwhile, safety Jairus Byrd is listed as doubtful, making it unlikely that he will be active for the game.
Game-day chats: Starting at 10 a.m., ESPN.com will host a "Sunday Countdown" chat, with observations from reporters across the NFL as game time approaches. Then, once Bills-Patriots kicks off at 1 p.m., we'll have an in-game chat where readers can contribute questions and follow along with in-game observations. Look for links to those later today.
Anderson gets the call: Veteran official Walt Anderson, in his 11th season as a referee, gets the call for today's game.
