McKelvin, Gilmore among inactive Bills
By Mike Rodak
CANTON, Ohio -- The following Buffalo Bills players will not play tonight against the New York Giants:
Cornerback Leodis McKelvin
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore
Tight end Tony Moeaki
Tight end Scott Chandler
Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin
Players out: McKelvin and Gilmore, who both had offseason hip surgeries, have been eased back into action this training camp. Gilmore was limited in team drills last week while McKelvin has only participated in individual drills in practices.
Chandler (groin) and Moeaki (hamstring) were both out of practice for most of last week. Fellow tight end Lee Smith, who missed practice Thursday with a lower body injury, will play tonight.
Goodwin appeared to pull up with a hamstring injury early in Thursday's practice. He was on the field Friday night but did not finish the session. The extent of his injury isn't known.
Players in: In McKelvin and Gilmore's place, expect Ron Brooks and Corey Graham to see the first reps at cornerback, with Nickell Robey lining up in the slot. Fourth-round pick Ross Cockrell should also get extended time.
At tight end, Smith could see action tonight although we'd expect the majority of reps to go to Chris Gragg and Dominique Jones.
Without Goodwin, the Bills will could give more opportunities to T.J. Graham, who is battling for a roster spot.
