Buffalo Bills' projected roster
By Mike Rodak
Examining the Buffalo Bills' roster:
No changes here. Doug Marrone said Sunday there's still no clear front-runner in the Lewis-Tuel battle, although Tuel's stats have been better in preseason play.
RUNNING BACKS (4)
No changes here. Interesting comments from Marrone last week, when he said he won't put more than two backs into his weekly game plans. That could limit opportunities for Brown and Dixon.
No changes here. Still no spot for Evan Rodriguez.
No changes here. Some shifting of the depth chart, with Chris Hogan and Mike Williams rising through the last week of practice.
TIGHT ENDS (3)
No changes here. Chandler and Moeaki returned to practice last week, which brings this position closer to full health. Don't see a spot for Chris Gragg.
OFFENSIVE LINEMEN (9)
No changes here. Chris Hairston looks to have fallen behind on the right guard battle, with Richardson and Urbik splitting first-team reps. The return of Glenn from the NFI list may move Kouandjio into the No. 4 tackle role, further cementing Hairston's position on the outside of the bubble.
DEFENSIVE LINEMEN (8)
No changes here. The competition is heating up at reserve defensive tackle, where Landon Cohen is making a push after two strong preseason games. Alan Branch could be sliding down the depth chart.
No changes here. We'll continue to give Gaines the edge for the final spot with Bradham suspended for Week 1. Veteran Stevenson Sylvester would be another option in that role.
No changes here. Brooks continues to come on strong and looks to be in good position to make the final roster. This remains the deepest group on the team, although McKelvin's health continues to bear watching.
No changes here. Duke Williams has begun to push Searcy for the starting job, but he'll need a consistent effort over the remainder of the preseason.
No changes here. Dustin Hopkins will need to be a touchback machine for the rest of the preseason to earn a spot as the second kicker.
