If New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel can throw for 400 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, then he will become the first NFL quarterback to have three straight games with that many yards.
If Cassel does passes for 400 yards in any of the Patriots' five remaining games, then he will join Dan Marino as the only ones to have recorded three such games in a season. Marino did it twice, delivering four 400-yard games in 1984 and three in 1986.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees also can join the club. He has two 400-yard games this year, too, and is challenging Marino's record for yards in a season.
