AFC East: 2013 NFL preseason

Dolphins' preseason schedule

April, 4, 2013
The new-look Miami Dolphins announced their five preseason games. Considering the high expectations, there will be a lot of pressure for the Dolphins to gel and play well early this summer.

It was already announced that Miami will face the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 4 in Canton Ohio. The Dolphins and Cowboys will be the first two teams to open the exhibition season.

The Dolphins will play four additional preseason games at the Jacksonville Jaguars, at the Houston Texans and with two home games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.

Miami and Dallas are the only NFL teams with five preseason games this year. The Dolphins must manage their players carefully this summer in training camp and exhibition games in order to stay healthy.
The reigning AFC East champion New England Patriots announced their preseason on Thursday.

New England will open the exhibition season on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. It will be an interesting matchup with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick facing his friend, Eagles rookie head coach Chip Kelly, in Kelly's NFL debut. Kelly spent time last offseason with Belichick and helped the Patriots speed up their no-huddle offense.

The Patriots also will play their first home preseason game on Aug. 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Patriots will wrap up their preseason at the Detroit Lions and at home against the New York Giants. New England will face the Giants in the exhibition season for the ninth straight year.
