The receiver who has the most catches in the division continues to lead the AFC East in drops.
New England Patriots Pro Bowl receiver Wes Welker is far and away the drops leader in the division. His drop count (10) has reached double digits, and he's second in the entire NFL behind New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham (11).
But it's hard to complain too much about Welker. He is third in the NFL with 100 receptions. With many receptions come the opportunities for increased drops.
Here are the current drops leaders for the AFC East, according to ESPN Stats & Information:
No. 1: WR Wes Welker, Patriots, 10
No. 2: WR Brandon Lloyd, Patriots, 6
No. 3 (tie): WR T.J. Graham, Bills, 5
TE Rob Gronkowski, Patriots, 5
TE Aaron Hernandez, Patriots, 5
Buffalo Bills receiver Donald Jones and Miami Dolphins receiver Davone Bess are not far behind with four drops apiece. But the Patriots need to be wary of drops in the playoffs, when every play counts.
