AFC East: Lamarr Miller

Morning take: Should Revis want out?

January, 25, 2013
Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC East:
  • After the Jets didn't deny reports of putting Darrelle Revis on the trading block this week, should the star corner want out of New York?
Morning take: Revis is a stud on a team that's not close to a championship. The Jets probably won't pay him in 2014, either. So a separation might be best for both parties.
Morning take: At 35, Brady certainly is no longer in his prime. But he is still an elite quarterback and that's enough to keep New England in title contention next season.
Morning take: Miami had two hits in last year's draft with defensive end Olivier Vernon and running back Lamar Miller from the University of Miami. The Florida colleges are always filled with talent, and the Dolphins should be on top of their home turf.
Morning take: The Bills will be looking at any and all quarterback prospects. Wilson has holes in his game, but so do other quarterbacks. He is getting early comparisons to Washington Redskins backup Kirk Cousins.
Here are the most interesting stories Sunday morning in the AFC East:
  • Should the Buffalo Bills get an "A" for their 2012 NFL draft?
Morning take: I like Buffalo's draft. The picks were solid, not sexy, and matched need in most cases. I'm not a fan of grading drafts right after it happens. So I'm not providing a letter.
  • Former University of Miami tailback Lamarr Miller is happy to stay home with the Dolphins.
Morning take: Miller was a solid value pick for the Dolphins. But can he find playing time behind Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas? That will be Dolphins coach Joe Philbin's job to get Miller touches next season. Perhaps it will come on special teams.

  • The NFL Network released the start of its top 100 players. New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow came in at No. 95.
Morning take: This is a list voted on by players, so it carries weight. Tebow earned respect last year by winning games and getting the Denver Broncos to the divisional round of the playoffs.
  • Is New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard a value pick in the sixth round?
Morning take: It appears that way. But Dennard needs to stay out of trouble and concentrate on football. New England could be just the right culture for him, where it's all football all the time.
