September, 25, 2012
It was a wild week in the AFC East. But there were also several good performances.

So who is our latest Player of the Week from the division?

Was it Wes Welker? The New England Patriots receiver bounced back from a slow start with eight receptions for 142 yards. Welker stepped up big and got more reps with the absence of injured tight end Aaron Hernandez.

Jets receiver Santonio Holmes also had a big day. He showed his playmaking ability in an overtime win over the Miami Dolphins. Holmes had a season high nine receptions for 147 yards. Did Holmes have the best performance this week?

Bills defensive end Mario Williams finally exploded. He had four tackles and 1.5 sacks in Buffalo’s win over the Cleveland Browns. The Bills will need Williams to do the same against the Patriots this week.

Finally, Dolphins linebacker Kevin Burnett played a solid game with nine tackles. He had a big stuff at the goal line against Jets running back Shonn Greene.

Walker's AFC East predictions

September, 22, 2012
I am a stellar 6-1 predicting AFC East games in the first two weeks. The only reason I don't have a perfect record is because New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski went wide left last week at the end of regulation.

But we have three tough games to predict this week in the division. Let’s get to it.

Buffalo Bills (1-1) at Cleveland Browns (0-2), Sunday at 1 p.m. ET

Skinny: This is a classic trap game for the Bills playing on the road and with the Patriots looming in two weeks. Bills fans should be nervous about this game. But Buffalo has more playmakers and it should be enough to squeak one out.

Pick: Bills, 20-17

New York Jets (1-1) at Miami Dolphins (1-1), Sunday at 1 p.m. ET

Skinny: Expect this to be a physical slugfest. A Rex Ryan defense against a rookie quarterback (Ryan Tannehill) means advantage Jets. Darrelle Revis is returning and says this is a “must-win.” I expect the Jets to play that way.

Pick: Jets, 17-14

New England Patriots (1-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1), Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET

Skinny: The Patriots rarely play two bad games in a row. But the Ravens are very tough to beat at home and have revenge on their minds. Patriots fall to 1-2 in a well-played game.

Pick: Ravens, 24-21

Last week: 3-1

Overall: 6-1

Comment: I must keep the hot streak going.
